As students, staff, and caregivers prepare for the new school year, so do cybercriminals. Schools often have limited resources, face persistent cyber threats, and are susceptible to physical hazards. These cyber threats can disrupt essential services and potentially compromise safety.

To combat these threats, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) offers resources, services, and tools to educate personnel and students on smart online practices and help schools reduce their exposure to cyber risks.

The SchoolSafety.gov website provides useful tools for schools to assess, develop, and enhance safety plans. It also offers a feature to help find federal school safety-related grants and funding opportunities. More information can be found on CISA’s School Safety and Cybersecurity and SchoolSafety.gov websites.
