Everbridge , a US software company, has informed its customers that unidentified threat actors gained access to files containing business and user data in a recent breach of its corporate systems. The company offers public warning, crisis management, and risk intelligence services to over 6,500 customers worldwide, including the US Army, the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, and the countries of Norway and Australia, among others. The threat actors were detected on the company’s network on May 21 after
using information obtained in a previous phishing attack that targeted some Everbridge employees. While the investigation is ongoing, analysts have determined that the threat actors accessed files containing instances of some administrator and users’ contact information, information about the subscribed Everbridge services, and enabled access methods that could be used in follow-on attacks.
