An incident occurred where an individual received the “Your Account Is Set To Close” phishing email, which claims that your Microsoft account is scheduled to be closed on a specific date due to inactivity or failed errors. The email urges you to sign in to your account before the specified date to keep it from closing and deletion.

About This Phishing Email

The “Your Account Is Set To Close” email will include a link or button to click on, which leads to a fake login page that looks like the real Microsoft login page. Once you enter your login credentials, the cybercriminals can use that information to gain access to your account and steal personal information, money or use the account for fraudulent activities. Below is a screenshot of the actual email received.
